Khyati's Health-O-Meter Says:

Sprouts are wonder food due to their high nutritional value. Upon sprouting, the digestibility of the pulse increases to twice and the vitamin and mineral content especially that of Vitamin C, Iron, Riboflavin, Niacin, and Phosphorous is raised three times. They ensure blood purification and strengthen the immune system.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Moong sprouts - 20 g
  • Gram flour (besan) - 2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder - ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder - ½ tsp
  • Cumin powder - ¼ tsp
  • Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
  • Yogurt - ½ cup
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil - ½ tsp
  • Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
  • Green chillies, cut lengthwise - 2 no.
  • Curry leaves - 2 or 4
  • Fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped - 1 tbsp

DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Heat water in a steamer.  Step 2 In a bowl, mix together besan, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, a pinch of asafoetida, yogurt, sprouted moong, salt and sufficient water to make a thick batter.  Step 3 Grease a plate with oil. Spread the moong mixture over it. Place the plate in the steamer and steam for 10-12 minutes.  Step 4 Remove from the steamer and cut into pieces. Step 5 Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add the mustard seeds and green chilies. When the seeds splutter, add curry leave and immediately add the patodi.  Step 6 Add coriander leaves. Step 7 Transfer into a serving bowl and serve.
