This Radish soup is made using Turnips which are rich in fibers, calcium, phosphorus, iron, and vitamins A, B, C, and K, making this a power-packed recipe. Turnips aid in relieving intestinal problems and managing your blood pressure levels. This low-calorie recipe helps in weight loss and the compound Lutein, an important antioxidant found in Turnips, helps in taking care of eye health and suppressing inflammation to some extent. Prepare this warm bowl of healthy soup and enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:
  • Turnip / mooli [peeled, sliced] - 100 grams [1 katori] 
  • Fennel seeds, crushed [for garnishing] - 1 tsp
  • Sugar - ½ tsp [optional]
  • Mustard oil -  ½ tsp 
  • Garlic [sliced] - 2 no.
  • Asafoetida - ¼ tsp
  • Dry ginger powder - ¼ tsp
  • Fennel powder - ½ tsp
  • Salt - as per your taste
  • Water - as required
  • Coriander leaves - 1 tsp 
  • lime - 1 tsp
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Heat ½ tsp oil in a pot, add sliced garlic & the sliced mouli. Step 2 Add water, cover, and cook for about 30 mins or until sufficiently reduced. Step 3 Saute asafoetida, fennel crushed, and dry ginger powder in mustard oil and add to the soup. Step 4 Season with salt and sugar. Step 5 Now blend into a smooth puree. Step 6 Garnish with chopped corainder. If you find fresh fennel, use it too :)
