INGREDIENTS:

  • Green chana, soaked and boiled - 30 g
  • Fenugreek leaves (methi), finely chopped - ½ cup
  • Oil - ½ tsp
  • Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
  • Green chilies as per taste 
  • Garlic, finely chopped - 1 clove
  • Ginger, finely chopped - ½ tsp
  • Onion, finely chopped - ½ small
  • Red chili powder - ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder - ½ tsp
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Tomatoes, pureed - 1 medium
  • Salt as per taste, use minimum
  • Coriander leaves, finely chopped for garnishing

DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Heat oil in a non-stick Kadai.  Step 2 Add cumin seeds and saute till fragrant.  Step 3 Add finely chopped green chillies add to the Kadai. Add garlic and ginger and saute. Step 4 Add onion and saute for 3-4 minutes or till light gulden.  Step 5 Add fresh fenugreek leaves to the Kadai and saute for 1-2 minutes.  Step 6 Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder. Step 7 Add tomato puree and mix well. Add the boiled chana along with the water and salt and mix well.  Step 8 Cover and cook for 6-8 minutes. Add coriander leaves, Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
