Familiarity on the plate is boring, you need innovation. So here is a simple, unique, and creative solution for a healthy breakfast. Oats are low in calories and when combined with vegetables and gram flour, make a recipe that is healthy and a perfect combination of cereal-pulse meal, rich in complex carbohydrates and proteins as well. Besan Oats Vegetable Waffle served with coriander chutney makes it a perfectly healthy option!

INGREDIENTS:
  • Besan (bengal gram flour) - 2 tbsp
  • Oats flour - 3 tbsp 
  • Mixed Veggies (carrots, onions, french beans ) - ½ katori
  • Carom Seeds (ground) -¼ tsp
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Green chilli - 1 no
  • Oil (optional) - minimal
  • Salt - as per taste 
  • Water for the batter - as per the consistency
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 To make the batter mix the besan, oat flour, carrom seeds, turmeric powder, green chilli and salt. Step 2  Add sufficient water and whip to a smooth and thick batter. Step 3 Toss in the chopped vegetables and stir well. Set aside for at least 15 minutes. Step 4 Place a ladleful of the mixture in the center of the waffle pan and cook on high for 3-5 minutes, or until gulden brown on the exterior. Step 5 Top it a green chutney and then enjoy.
