Independence Day is celebrated annually on 15 August, as a National Holiday in India commemorating the nation's independence from the British Empire on 15 August 1947. The Indian Flag is a combination of saffron, white & green with a blue chakra & wheel in between. Saffron on the flag symbolizes courage & sacrifice, white - peace & purity whereas green- faith & chivalry. The blue wheel represents the dynamism of a peaceful change.
